My Therapy Approach
I am a BACP qualified and registered psychotherapist, specialising in trauma, abuse, sexual abuse and relationships with self and others. I've seen many clients hesitate to start work on their mental health. It's intimidating to see a new therapist and vulnerability is a hard thing to ask for. I typically work with clients who have experienced sexual abuse, struggling with sexuality, gender identity and difficulties in their relationships. I also have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, complex mental health, personality disorder, and suicide. I work with both men and women, individually or as a couple.
My approach is to take it slow. Through patience, compassion, consistency, mutual respect and understanding we'll tackle stressors from your relationships, family and other areas of your life to facilitate self-growth and healing.
Eventually, my clients feel comfortable unpacking 'their stuff' which helps with their daily emotions and reactions. Exploring the impact in the here and now. This is where we see real growth.
To change old patterns of behaviour or even pre-contemplate change is scary and lets face it, it takes hard work. You are the turning point! Give yourself the opportunity to repair and rebuild after trauma. Well, what are you waiting for, schedule a free 20-minute consultation, let's see if we're a good fit.
